Trendy colors

Colors play a major role in the coatings industry today. Customers want to stand out from other competitors' products with new colors, offer innovations and thus gain a competitive advantage. The coatings should not only look good, but also offer other functional properties such as easy-to-clean, anti-fingerprint or chemical resistance.

With EPG AG's sol-gel coating technology, it is possible not only to meet customers' color requirements individually, but also to offer the combination with other properties. In the automotive sector, for example, good corrosion protection is particularly sought after, as is high temperature resistance or robustness against external influences such as scratches or aggressive substances.

EPG AG's coating solutions can combine these properties and thus significantly increase the benefit of the component. The product shows fewer signs of wear, is harder and definitely more durable than without a coating.

In addition, different gloss levels can be set: from matte to high-gloss, everything is possible. Since the colors are applied in very thin layers, the special structures of the underlying metal are preserved, e.g. if the metal has a brushed or relief-like texture. Colors and metal structure together can therefore produce an aesthetically very appealing look.

Matching different components in terms of color

For the household and sanitary sector, EPG AG offers new trendy colors not only on various metals (aluminum, stainless steel, Zamac), but also on plastics. This means that even complex groups of components made up of different materials can be coated in a uniform color pattern.

EPG AG receives a silver sustainability certificate from ECOVADIS

EPG AG is delighted with the result achieved in the Ecovadis sustainability assessment. "It shows that we are on the right track to position our company for the future," explains CEO Dr. Andreas Zimmermann. "And it is also a clear signal to our customers that we are a good partner thanks to our environmentally friendly coating technologies. Particularly when alternatives are sought to chrome plating or the energy-intensive anodizing process, our coatings are in demand. We can thus meet the requirements that are made of sustainable coating technology today."

EPG AG participated for the first time in this performance comparison, which was carried out by ECOVADIS, and was immediately able to achieve a silver award. Ecological performance, such as the use of environmentally friendly materials, is examined, but the company's ethical and social principles are also analyzed. Equally important is the treatment of suppliers. Here, too, EPG AG pays particular attention to the consideration of ecological objectives. All these achievements had to be proven with reports or documents and then ECOVADIS prepared the rating.

"We have made great efforts to introduce these ecological and social objectives in our company," Andreas Zimmermann reports, "but we will continue on this path. This is because we want to show our customers that we not only manufacture environmentally friendly products, but also that sustainability is practiced in our daily operations."

Glass-like coatings offer environmentally friendly alternative to chrome plating

Strict REACH regulations require a rethink, and many customers are looking for environmentally friendly coating processes.

For more than 15 years, EPG AG has been developing coating solutions based on sol-gel technology that can provide an alternative to chrome-plated surfaces. With the products, Nanoseal® for the high-temperature range and Saphiral® for the low-temperature range, ultra-thin coatings are accessible that allow the look and feel of the metals to be preserved, and many color nuances set interesting and fashionable accents that are appreciated by customers.

Both Nanoseal® and Saphiral® are REACH-compliant coatings. Since they are mainly made of glass, they do not contain any substances relevant to health or the environment and are even suitable for use in the food industry. The advantages are obvious, offering customers a good alternative to chrome-plating processes and other environmentally harmful coatings.

Coatings on plastic surfaces and with biocidal effects are currently under development. The first tests present good results and show that the sol-gel technology can also offer solutions for these areas.

Moving early from chromium trioxide to alternatives

With Nanoseal®, EPG AG offers an environmentally friendly alternative to chrome application that can be applied to all metals. Colored coating is also possible and thus also offers an alternative for black chrome application.

Due to the Reach regulation, the use of chromium has been on the banned list for many years. While it was first CHROM (VI), chromium trioxide has also been banned since 2017 or is only allowed with a special exemption, but this will expire in September 2024. It is unclear whether this approval will be extended.

This is a difficult situation for the chrome-plating industry, but also for buyers of chrome-plated products such as the automotive industry, because decorative chrome elements are very popular with customers. Even more important to look for alternatives, because there are definitely system coatings that are not as burdensome for workers, wastewater technology and emissions as chromium plating.

EPG offers alternatives for chromium

EPG AG has been working for years with a patented nano-chemical alternative as a chrome substitute based on sol-gel technology. With this environmentally friendly process, a glass-like transparent layer is applied to the polished metal in an extremely thin layer and then appears to the observer as if it were chrome-plated. This surface finish is already being used successfully in the automotive sector. The Nanoseal® product can be applied to all metals and common product surfaces such as stainless steel or PVD.

The particular advantage of this technology is that it does not pollute the environment during production and application but maintains the good properties of chrome plating - decorative and wear-resistant - just as well, if not better. In addition, the coating has a very high temperature resistance (up to 550°C) and is resistant to corrosion (CASS test up to 96 h).

Likewise, deep black coatings can be produced with the Nanoseal® product, which far outperforms the comparison with black chrome. It is therefore quite possible to replace chrome, you just have to know the alternatives.

Stainless steel, PVD coating, durability, functionality, ultra-thin, layer, metallic appearance

Additional functionality for PVD surfaces

What does the customer expect from a coating? Good appearance, lasting durability, appealing functionality, or environmentally friendly production? No question, he wants everything combined, of course!

For the decorative sector, PVD (physical vapor deposition) processes have become indispensable in surface technology. After all, it's all about attractive colors, improving haptics and appearance - regardless of whether it's used for car interiors or in the household or for small electrical appliances.

Nevertheless, this process also has numerous disadvantages, which become particularly apparent when the coated components are used permanently: for example, the decorative PVD surfaces are very sensitive to scratches and are not resistant to abrasion or chemical influences. If, for example, a component or kitchen utensil is constantly touched by hand, the PVD surface may become scratched after a short time or suffer in appearance due to fingerprints.

EPG AG has developed a topcoat for precisely this problem, which can protect the PVD layer and significantly improve its function. Based on sol-gel coating technology, a glass-like transparent coating was developed that covers the PVD layer in an ultra-thin layer and thus does not produce any optical changes to the metallic appearance. But the durability and functionality of the coating is increased, scratches, abrasion or hand sweat are no longer a problem. Cleaning a PVD coating is also made easier with the topcoat, because fingerprints are now easy to remove and wipe away.

But it is also possible to completely replace the PVD layer with the EPG sol-gel coating. This creates further advantages for the customer. The PVD process is very complex, cost-intensive and, above all, time-consuming due to the necessary use of complex machines, and often results in minor color differences in successive batches. EPG coatings, on the other hand, are applied in an automated spraying process that enables large quantities to be produced on an industrial scale and poses no problem for complex geometries and frequent color changes. The subsequent curing process in the oven is easy to handle and significantly shortened.

The EPG coatings thus offer many advantages over PVD coatings, because the customer does not want to choose between good appearance and durability but wants to obtain both combined in one coating and also use an environmentally friendly process.

Different surfaces - but uniform colour images

The coating systems of EPG AG can be used for geometrically complex components. Individual colour requests can be realised and reproduced.

The coating systems of EPG AG based on the sol-gel technology are used today with a variety of metals and plastics, not only for the automotive sector, but also in the household or sanitary sector. They can protect a wide variety of surfaces - whether brushed, blasted or high gloss polished - against dirt, scratches or aggressive chemical influences, offer high corrosion protection and are temperature stable.

Today, coloured coating lacquers, which are produced to customer specifications, are particularly popular. By suitable mixing processes of different colour pigments and measuring the corresponding colour values, reproducible, customer-specific coloured coatings can be delivered. Different degrees of gloss, whether matt or high gloss, can also be adjusted according to the customer's wishes.

These individual colour layers are reproducible for different metal or plastic surfaces, so that even the coating of geometrically complex components is possible. This creates a uniform colour image on different surfaces.

Trendy colors for the automotive sector

16.10.2020

New color shades are being sought in the automotive sector in order to stand out from other manufacturers. At present, the copper/bronze color in various color shades is trendy. But for use in automobiles, the colored coatings must be particularly temperature-stable and corrosion-resistant.

With its Nanoseal® high-temperature coating, EPG AG offers a good and long-proven basis that exhibits high corrosion resistance in the high-temperature range. For the required bronze color it was the greatest challenge to achieve color stability in the red color spectrum. By selecting specific pigments, it was possible to achieve metallic and iridescent copper shades that passed the 500°C temperature shock test which is required by the automotive sector. There is also a major financial advantage: because this coating does not have to be produced under inert gas or in a two-layer process.

The advantages of sol-gel based coating systems for complex component groups

29.11.19

Aesthetic surfaces of metals coupled with high functionality have become essential in many areas of daily life. EPG AG’s coating systems are also suitable for component groups made of different metals.

EPG AG's innovative coating systems have been on the market in the automotive industry for a long time and are gaining increasing popularity in other sectors as well. A large number of metals can be refined with sol-gel-based systems. These can be applied as an invisible transparent protection for brushed, blasted or highly polished metal surfaces, which are protected against contamination, which are robust against external influences such as scratches or aggressive substances, or have a high corrosion protection or a special temperature stability.

By selecting suitable pigments, the coating lacquers can also be produced in color. EPG offers a wide range of color pigments for this purpose. At the customer's request, suitable mixing processes of different color pigments and measurement of the corresponding color values can be used to produce reproducible, customized colored coatings. We can also adjust the desired gloss levels, e.g. matt or high-gloss coatings.

Due to the very low layer thickness, the metallic character of the substrate is retained; brush structures or surface reliefs remain visible even after coating.

The coloured coatings can be applied to aluminium as well as stainless steel or other metals. Thus this technology also enables the coating of complex component groups composed of different metals with the result of a uniform colour image on the surface.

Successful networking at IAA Frankfurt 2019

7.11.2019

For EPG it was a busy third quarter of 2019: After visiting the IFA show in Berlin, the company could exhibit at the IAA in Frankfurt together on a booth gathering many companies from the Saarland region.

As our Nanoseal® coating has been successfully used for end-pipes in high-end cars for many years, EPG already has lot of contacts in the automotive industry. So once more EPG took the opportunity at the IAA to meet and discuss our coating solutions with OEM representatives and suppliers from the automotive industry.

Lots of discussions focused on the concerns of OEMs to avoid using environmental harmful processes like chrome plating but to keep good corrosion protection properties. Having exclusive colors is also for brands a nice way to distinguish themselves from competitors and to create an easy recognisable signature. In both cases EPG is able to provide solutions with coatings ready to be implemented in production.

On stage of the booth our head of sales department, Marcel Keidel, presented advantages of EPG’s main coating solutions and visitors could also have a look at EPG’s samples of colored end-pipes. For EPG it was a successful time for networking and building up new contacts during the fair.

New Trends at IFA Berlin 2019

02.10.2019

In September 2019 the international exhibition for consumer electronics in Berlin (IFA) has been the meeting point for most of the key retailers, buyers and experts in this industry and presented the latest products and innovations. EPG met special costumers and informed about our coating solutions for high-end products.

Visiting the IFA show EPG found it again confirmed that today end customers are increasingly paying attention for high quality products. Many suppliers use valuable materials on electronics parts like wood, leather and especially metals instead of plastics. For instance aluminium and stainless steel are often used on products for electronic devices in different fields. In order to achieve good properties as well as an appealing visual appearance these metals require surface treatments.

Today, anodizing is often used for aluminium whereas PVD and chrome plating are the most common for stainless steel; but all these treatments have disadvantages such as lack of tarnish protection, lack of colour variations or they're harmful to the environment.

At the IFA Berlin EPG took the opportunity to inform customers about our coating solutions. Our Nanoseal® and Saphiral® patented coatings can be applied on a wide variety of stainless-steel alloys as well as on most of the aluminium ones. Also they can be applied directly on the raw material of any finish (untreated, sanded, brushed, etched, mirror polished) as well as on top of other surface treatments (like anodizing, PVD).

EPG’s coating solutions create new surfaces with best properties and perfect visual appearance for all metal parts in electronic devices.

Griesheim, 19.08.2019

The new sol-gel coating system Saphiral from EPG AG offers sensitive aluminium surfaces in the kitchen area excellent protection against scratches and chemical attacks by acids and alkalis.

Conventional anodising protects the sensitive aluminium surfaces from mechanical stress and corrosion. If, however, the surfaces are treated with strongly alkaline or acid cleaning agents, as they are often used in kitchens or sanitary areas, they can be attacked very quickly and the components become stained and unattractive. The coating systems of EPG AG offer a new possibility to adequately protect high-quality metallic surfaces against such attacks. The components can also be cleaned in the dishwasher without changing the surface, which is not possible with anodised kitchen parts. The appearance of the surfaces can also be impressive - whether black matt surfaces or bright glossy colours; there are no limits to the surface design.

Surface finishing of metal parts for the automotive industry

Griesheim, 18.07.2019

With Nanoseal® and Saphiral®, many metal parts in automobiles can be specially protected and optically enhanced. The automotive industry particularly appreciates their high temperature resistance.

For more than 15 years, EPG AG has been offering outstanding solutions for coating metal parts in the automotive sector. The sol-gel coatings Nanoseal® (for stainless steel) and Saphiral® (for aluminum) offer very good protection for sensitive metal parts, but can also set special optical accents, e.g. through a colored or particularly glossy finish.

EPG AG's nanotechnology offers a unique selling point for high-temperature applications. For example, tailpipes and coverings are coated in black matt or high-gloss, chrome or brushed steel optics, not only to improve their appearance, but also to increase their resistance to corrosion and stains and to ensure high abrasion resistance. Engine covers can also be coated in various colours.

EPG AG's coatings offer an "all-round carefree package" such as extremely high UV stability, scratch resistance or an anti-fingerprint-finish for external metal parts on the car such as footboards, bumper protection and window panelling.

Interior articles in cars can also be provided with EPG coatings to create an unusual or high-quality optical look. Loudspeaker grilles are a good example of parts that require high-quality surface treatment with targeted colouring.

But other car parts (brake systems, trim strips or pedals) would also be suitable for coating with EPG’s products.

Saphiral® offers excellent protection and replacement for anodizing

15.06.2019

With its Saphiral® sol-gel coating system, EPG AG has developed a way of protecting aluminium surfaces against corrosion and mechanical stress even without anodizing.

Depending on the alloy and manufacturing process, the aluminium surface often shows an uneven, changed appearance after anodizing, which is not visually pleasing. With Saphiral®, EPG AG has developed a coating solution with which the optical disadvantages of the anodizing process can be eliminated. Saphiral® can also be used either with the aid of a topcoat adapted to the customer's colour requirements and functionalities, or directly on an uncoated surface without anodising. Due to the very thin layer thickness - in the range of 5 to 15 micrometers - the haptics of the metal are also retained.

In addition to the optical enhancement of aluminium, Saphiral® offers excellent properties to withstand mechanical and chemical influences: whether abrasion resistance, scratch hardness or resistance to hand perspiration, for example, all customer requirements can be individually adapted.

Transparent titanium coating for the best appearance

15.05.2019

EPG AG has developed a special sol-gel coating exclusively for titanium, which makes it very easy to clean this high-quality material - and preserves its good appearance.

Titanium substrates are used more and more in a wide range of applications today, but in practice they are unfortunately very sensitive to fingerprints and at high temperatures (over 200/300°C) very susceptible to tarnishing.

In order to counteract these undesirable effects, EPG AG has developed a special sol-gel coating based on its Nanoseal® product, which was developed exclusively for titanium structures. This specific coating is applied to the material after a pre-treatment with cleaning, careful rinsing and drying to avoid the risk of trace formation under the coating. The coating is then applied in very thin layers to ensure the best properties and an invisible coating.

This special sol-gel solution provides a high performance coating on titanium that preserves the original appearance and improves the resistance of this unique metal.

The coating can also be colored, but most customers prefer to keep the coating transparent and almost invisible to maintain the clear appearance of such a beautiful and expensive material. In addition, our sol-gel coating is able to improve mechanical properties such as scratch resistance and give the coated parts good chemical stability.

German-French Discovery Day at EPG AG

15.04.2019

Foreign languages are important for the profession - this was the insight view the pupils of a French vocational school were able to take with them during their visit to EPG AG. As German, English and French are spoken in our company.

At the beginning of April, EPG AG had a visit from a French class of the Lycée Louis Lapicque from Epinal to its French branch in Henriville. As part of the German-French Discovery Day, the students were given an insight into the production and organization of our company. The Franco-German Youth Office (FGYO) has been organising this day for many years to enable pupils from both countries and from different types of schools to get to know cross-border companies and to draw the young people's attention to internationally oriented professions.

At the beginning, the group received a brief introduction in French on the subject of surface coating and which products are manufactured at EPG AG. After a tour of the laboratories, coating and furnace plants, the discussion continued with various employees from the administrative department in German, English and French. Here the students, who were all participants of the German course for office management, were made practically aware of how important language skills are even in a small company. It is to be hoped that the visit will give them a good insight into working life and also arouse their interest in working across borders.

It is planned to establish new research cooperation and to support new projects in the oil and gas industry.

Sol-gel technology offers excellent replacement for chromium (VI)

Griesheim, 22.01.2019

With the surface refinement based on sol-gel technology, the combination of noble appearance and resistance to aggressive external influences is extremely successful. It can be used in a variety of ways and can replace chrome.

In the future it will only be possible to use chromium (VI) in the coating industry with an exception. Even though there will of course still be authorizations, it is clear that an alternative must be selected for many applications - especially in the area of decorative surface finishing.

EPG AG has been working for years with a patented nano-chemical alternative to chromium substitutes based on sol-gel technology: The product Nanoseal® is used successfully in the automotive sector. This surface refinement achieves the good properties of chrome plating - decorative and wear-resistant - just as well, if not better, and can be applied to all metals and common product surfaces such as stainless steel or PVD. The layers are applied extremely thin in an automated process and then hardened in the oven. For the observer, a transparent coating then appears chrome-plated on highly polished surfaces.

The quality of the sol-gel coating also has many advantages, such as very high temperature resistance (up to 550°C), resistance to corrosion (CASS: up to 96h), and it can also be applied in colour at the same time. For example, deep black coatings are possible which far exceed the performance of black chrome.

In addition, the manufacturing process is very variable and customers' individual design wishes can also be implemented.

EPG AG develops new "invisible" coating for PVD surfaces

Griesheim, 16.11.2018

With a new "invisible" coating solution, the mechanical properties of PVD surfaces can be significantly improved. EPG AG is currently working on completely replacing a PVD treatment with a single layer.

Today, PVD coatings are frequently used to give metal or plastic surfaces a high-gloss metallic surface. The disadvantages of such coatings include their weak mechanical properties: they are sensitive to scratches and are easily attacked by chemical substances.

EPG AG has developed new "invisible" coating solutions to reliably protect PVD surfaces against scratches.

This type of surface treatment protects decorative surfaces from mechanical and chemical influences without changing their appearance. Thus, abrasion resistance, scratch resistance and corrosion protection can be improved many times over. In addition, other properties such as easy-to-clean and anti-fingerprint can be applied directly with this coating.

Current development work is aimed at completely replacing a PVD treatment with a single coating in the future. This should make it possible to produce shiny metallic surfaces with a high degree of color variance that combine the above properties.

EPG AG develops powerful colored sol-gel system for aerospace industry

Griesheim, 15.10.2018

With a new colored surface coating for aluminium parts, EPG AG can meet the high demands of the aviation industry. The sol-gel coating resists high mechanical loads, convinces with its very good appearance and can replace the anodising process of the aluminium parts.

The main reasons for the use of aluminium alloys in the aerospace industry are the low weight and high mechanical stability of the material. In particular, the Al7xxx series combines these properties and is used for cabin components. Previously, these parts are usually subjected to an electrochemical surface treatment (anodisation), which has a clear disadvantage: the Al7xxx alloy series shows a non-uniform surface appearance after anodising. This is perceived by the customer as visually disturbing, particularly in the case of exposed parts in the visible range, and does not meet the aesthetic requirements of aircraft manufacturers.

EPG AG has now developed a colored sol-gel coating that reliably guarantees a uniform surface appearance. This means that all customer requirements regarding mechanical and chemical stability as well as optical requirements can be met to the complete satisfaction. With a complete sol-gel coating of the components, it is also possible to dispense with the anodising process and thus save one work step.

PVD Protection

New surface protection for PVD applications

PVD coatings are often used today in the decorative sector to give metal or plastic surfaces a high-quality appearance, whether through color accents or a particularly glossy appearance. These high-quality properties are, for example:

  • • translucent colors,

  • • the structure of the substrate remains intact (brushing, polishing, etc.),

  • • completely covering layers, which are however very thin and cause the cool touch feeling (plastic feels like metal)

The disadvantage of this PVD surface treatment is its high sensitivity to scratches, corrosion or chemical influences. Fingerprints, for example, are difficult or impossible to remove.

Top coat or single layer

EPG AG has developed an "invisible" coating solution that can reliably protect PVD surfaces. By spray application a transparent sol-gel layer is applied directly to the PVD surface and after thermal densification a very thin glassy coating is formed which shows good adhesion to the PVD substrate and at the same time has strong mechanical properties.
EPG AG has already completely replaced the PVD treatment for coloring for customers with specific color requirements; further colors are currently being qualified for customers. The focus of these developments is on the numerous color requirements of our customers in combination with their resistance to external influences. EPG AG thus offers an economical alternative to the usual two-layer process of PVD coating. Also the larger color deviations, which are partly present in the PVD, can be avoided as far as possible with the EPG process, because a color comparison takes place before the production release and does not vary afterwards any more.

Detailed information on PVD replacement can be found here in the JOT article (No. 4/2019):

Eloxal replacement

Topcoat or anodised replacement with Saphiral® possible

Surfaces of aluminum components are often subjected to the electrochemical process of anodizing. This is done, among other things, to protect them better against corrosion, mechanical influences or to achieve a combination with coloring.

However, many alloys often show an uneven appearance (discoloration) after anodizing, which is not desired. Optical anodizing is also not feasible, for example, with the low-cost die casting process, which means that certain combinations of aluminium components are excluded from the outset. This is why many industries are looking for optically high-quality alternatives. This alternative should be applicable to as many alloys and manufacturing processes as possible (such as continuous casting, die casting, forged parts, etc.) without any optical difference being detected.

With its Saphiral® coating system, EPG AG has a solution for almost all applications. For the aviation industry, for example, EPG AG has developed a colored sol-gel coating that reliably provides a uniform surface appearance and is also resistant to scratches and chemical influences. The color of the coating can also be adapted to customer requirements.

Saphiral® - excellent surface protection for aluminum

Large color baths are only used to a limited extent in the anodising process, because the maintenance of these baths costs money and space, which is why no anodising company is happy to provide several colors. With Saphiral®, color and smaller batch sizes are no problem. Once a new color has been adapted to the customer's requirements and all the quality assurance processes have been completed, the color can be re-manufactured at any time, even for small batches.

Higher resistance to cleaning agents or care products are additional advantages that this system offers to the user. This is because the glass-like layer not only prevents the penetration of chemicals and the resulting corrosion, but also shows an extraordinarily high resistance to strong acids and alkalis. The coatings show no signs of dissolution or discoloration on contact with concentrated acids and alkalis. They are also extremely weather-resistant, so that outdoor applications are also possible.

The colored Saphiral® coating adheres well to an anodised surface, but also to the untreated material. With a complete sol-gel coating of the component, it is therefore also possible to dispense with the anodising process and save one work step.

Corrosion protection

Corrosion protection for stainless steel and titanium

In many industries worldwide there is a huge demand for surface refinements with corrosion protection. Especially for the automotive industry, EPG AG supplies a surface coating for many exterior components that offers excellent corrosion protection but can also withstand chemical attack or mechanical abrasion.

The product Nanoseal® is a glass-like coating with excellent adhesion to metals such as stainless steel and titanium, which enables greatly improved surface properties:

  • • High corrosion and abrasion protection properties, here Nanoseal® achieves better values in many tests than the comparable products chromium or PVD

  • • High temperature resistance (up to 600°C)

  • • Excellent appearance (real metal look, transparent), even the finished structures such as brushes remain visible

  • • Additional features such as anti-fingerprint, bendability or tarnish protection

After cleaning the metal substrates, Nanoseal® is applied very thinly in a cost-effective spraying process and then cured in an oven at approx. 300 - 500° C. The coating is then applied to the metal substrates in a very thin layer.

The application possibilities are manifold and particularly in demand in the automotive sector:

  • • Exhaust systems (e.g. tailpipes, exhaust silencers)

  • • Decorations such as running boards and body parts

Nanoseal® can be used for stainless steel and titanium - both on polished and brushed surfaces.

Corrosion protection for aluminium surfaces

EPG AG also offers this protection for aluminium surfaces with its product Saphiral®, which is applied with a layer thickness of only 5 - 10 µm. This preserves the appearance of the metal and, at the same time, the coating ensures permanent protection against corrosion, abrasion and scratches. The disadvantages of aluminium surfaces are eliminated without changing the appearance.

With a single-layer spraying process, Saphiral® can also replace the otherwise necessary anodizing. Numerous colours and surface effects are also possible.
Saphiral® can be used in just as many ways as Nanoseal®:

  • • In the automotive sector, these include exterior parts such as tailpipes, tank caps and trunk sills or trim strips and trim panels for interiors,

  • • In the field of design and architecture, decorative trims, metal fittings or handles and

  • • In the household sector, iron soles or kitchen equipment can be coated.

All EPG coatings are environmentally friendly and compatible with REACH.
